  1. Hi dear classmates,
My favorite meal is BANITSA that is traditional Bulgarian food.Another reason to like Banitsa is because it's quick and easy to prepare. I am so happy that in Canada I can eat this meal.Let's start first with
    Ingredients:
1.One package of pastry from Superstore
    2.500gr. of feta cheese
3.One cup of yoghurt with 1 teaspoon banking soda
    4.Four eggs
    5.1/2 cup of oil
    Preparation:
In a large greased baking dish, individual sheets of pastry are layered one by one with small amounts of oil between them. After half of the sheets are placed in the pan, a large of the filling (eggs, feta, yoghurt, salt and soda) is spooned onto leaves and then covered with the remaining sheets and filling in the same manner. The pastry is then baked at 200-250.
In some recipes, just before the banitsa is finished a glass of lemonade or mineral water is poured into tray and baking continues for several minutes.
    Bon A Peti

  3. Hi, everyone? My favorite food is every spicy food! How about you? Do you like spicy food? If you like spicy food, I would like to recommend you one of famous spicy food, which is Jeayookbokum. It is a Korean famous food. When you eat it first time, you may think like that it is too spicy. However, even though it is very spicy, people who do not like spicy food eat the food again. Here is Jeayookbokum recipe. First, you have to prepare them, two grips of pork meat (thinly cut – 0.3cm), two grip of kamahi, one onion (cut – 5cm), and a spoonful of oil. Then, you also prepare two spoons of soy sauce, four spoons of red bean paste which name is Gochujang, four spoons of red pepper powder, two spoons of chopped garlic, two spoons of sugar, one tbsp of pepper, and two spoons of sesame oil for seasoning pork meat. Second, you have to season to pork meat: mix pork meat and every sauce for about thirty minutes. Third, add oil and kamahi. Stir-fry for five minutes. Then put in onion and pork. When you feel that they are ripe enough, you can have them. Finally, when you eat the Jeayookbukum, you should eat with steamed rice, bean paste, and lettuce. I hope you enjoy with jeayookbukum in your home.

  4. Hello! Everyone! My favorite food is steam egg. The recipe is simple:
    one part of egg
one and a half part of water
cooking oil and soy sauce (served with rice)
    or
sugar (eat it as a dessert)

First of all, blend them with a fork or a blender. Next, scoop away the bubble on the top. Then put them into a porcelain container and covered with aluminum foil. At the same time, bring the water to boil in a steamer. After that, put the container into the steamer. Make sure the water is half way of the container. Cover the lid of the steamer and let it boil for 15 seconds. Then turn off the power. Go to watch TV or do something else for 15 minutes. Remove the container from the steamer. Next remove the aluminum foil. After that, put some cooking oil on top of the egg and soy sauce and eat and enjoy it. It can be served with rice.

It also can be made a dessert. Mix with sugar before steaming instead of oil and soy sauce.

It is soft and smooth, and it’s easy to digest. It’s perfect for hot day when I don’t like eating.

  8. Hi guys I am back again. As my teacher suggestion I am going to re-write the recipe for chicken curry.

    South Indian Chicken Curry Recipe

This Chicken Curry Recipe main dish is one of my favorites. It uses the ingredients common in South India and is similar to the chicken curry recipe known as Chicken Chettinad (or Kozhi Vartha Kozhambu).

    Chicken Curry with Coconut
    Ingredients:
    1 chicken cut up
    3 tablespoons Ghee or oil
    3 cardamom pods
    1 teaspoon fennel
1 2-inch piece of cinnamon stick (I prefer cinnamon bark)
    1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
    2 medium onions, diced
1 teaspoon garlic minced (or paste)
1 teaspoon ginger, minced (or paste)
    1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 tablespoon curry powder, or to taste
1/2 cup coconut milk (see note)
    1 tablespoon garam masala
    4 small tomato, diced
1 1-inch square piece of tamarind (see note)

Heat the oil in a frying or sauté pan and add cardamom pods, cinnamon, fennel and cumin seeds. Fry the spices for 1-2 minutes and add the diced onions and cook until wilted. Reduce the heat and add the garlic and ginger and sauté for another 2-3 minutes (if your pan is too hot you will risk burning the garlic). Add the turmeric, curry powder, chicken, tomato, garam masala and coconut milk and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and mix thoroughly and cover. Let it simmer until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens. Serve hot with rice.
    that's enough. thanks.

  10. I can't really choose a single favorite recipe. Usually I favor seasonal food. In summer, lotus root, cucumber and bitter melon, etc., are easy to cook and ideal to cool down my body. I'm not a carnivore, so most of the time I prefer to make vegetarian dishes.

1/2 lotus root, sliced very thinly
    1/2 Tbs. rice vinegar
    chopped green onion
    salt
    sugar
    cooking oil

1.Warm up a wok, and pour some cooking oil it. Warm up the oil until it starts to bubble when you put pan turner in the wok.
2.Put sliced lotus root in. Stir and fry a bit. Spray some water to prevent from burning. Keep stirring and frying until water is absorbed. If you like crispy, put less water; if you prefer soft, then add more water.
3.Add salt, sugar and vinegar when it is almost ready.
4.Stir it and add chopped green onion.
    5.Transfer to the plate.

    Enjoy the summer!

  12. This question is really hard because I like a lot of food and I like them equally. So after a lot of thinking from Friday to today, I have decided one food that I totally love and can eat everyday. It is Tiramisu. Acording to an explanation, "Tiramisu is an Italian dessert typically made from Lady Fingers, espresso coffee, mascarpone cheese, eggs, cream, sugar, Marsala wine, cocoa and rum. The name "Tiramisu" means "pick-me-up" (metaphorically, "cheer me up"), referring to the two caffeine-containing ingredients, espresso and cocoa" And here is the receipt for it:

    Ingredients
    6 tbsp grated chocolate
    2 tsp espresso coffee powder
    1½ cup whipped cream
    4 tbsp kaluah
    4 cup mascarpone cheese
    15 x sponge fingers
    1 cup sugar
    4 tsp vanilla essence
    ¼ cup hot water

1.Place the mascarpone cheese in a bowl.
2.Whisk in the sugar, vanilla and kahlua, being sure to always stir in the same direction.
3.Whisk in a cup of whipped cream and 4 tbsps of flaked chocolate.
4.Place the coffee in a mug and mix with hot water. Take 4 short glasses and break sponge fingers in to the bottom and brush with coffee.
5.Place some of the tiramisu mixture on top.
6.Add another layer of sponge fingers and another layer of tiramisu mixture.
7.Top with whipped cream and grated chocolate.

    Hope you guys like it!

  13. Hi,
I think like Trinh, the question is hard for me because I am the person who really enjoy eating and I like almost everything. Anyway, I must choose only one. This one is Bulgarian pancake called in my language "Palachinki". I chose this because of my sweet memory from my childhood. Nothing can replace this moment when my mom prepare a huge bowl of pancake mix and my brother and me sat around her waiting for them to be ready. One for him, one for me, filled with different garnish. Eating them with lightning speed, faster than my mother managed to roast them. Unbelievable moment, my children do the same, like my brother and me, when I cook "Palachinki". So here is the recipe.

    Ingredients:
    5 eggs
    1 liter milk
    750 gram flour
    1 tbsp salt
    1 tbsp sugar
    1 tbsp oil

    Preparation:
In a deep bowl break eggs and beat in salt and sugar.Add milk by stirring.Gradually add the flour. Stir until a homogeneous mixture. Add the oil.
Heat the pan. Place about one scoop of dough and spill all over the base of the pan. Allow to fry until slightly separating the edges of the pancake. Turn it, after the tips are raised pancake is ready.
Optional garnish with chocolate, honey, sugar, jam, cream, fruit or salty - with mayonnaise, cheese or feta cheese.
    Bon appetit!

  16. Hello everybody. My favorite food is my country's traditional food and paticularly the one from my region. Among all the delicious meals there is one I like very much: "Empanadas". An empanada is a stuffed bread or pastry. The name comes from the verb empanar, meaning to wrap or coat in bread. Empanada is made by folding a dough or bread patty around the stuffing. The stuffing can consist of many things such as meat or vegetables. In many countries like Spain, empanadas are usually large and circular in shape and are cut into smaller portions for consumption, whereas in other countries, for example in South America, empanadas are normally small and semi-circular. Empanadas are also known by a wide variety of regional names.
It is a very common meal in some South American countries. In Colombia it is used as a snack and sometimes as a kind of stuffing or addition for any daily meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner). It is a mixture of several ingredients like beef (chicken), potatoes (rice), green onion, white onion, tomatoes and spices, covered by layer of corn flour. Because of its crispy consistency, It is usually taken (eaten) just immediately after it has been prepared, Otherwise, the external layer, the cover, becomes soft.
    Here is the recipe:

    Dough or Masa
2 cups precooked yellow cornmeal (masarepa)
3 cups hot water (almost boiling)
1 tablespoon sazon (seasoning) goya with azafran (3 packets) (optional)
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    Filling
2 cups white potatoes, peeled and cut into very small dice
1 chicken bouillon cubes (Knorr / Maggie) or 1 vegetable bouillon cube (Knorr / Maggie)
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    1/2 cup white onion, chopped
    1 cup chopped tomato
    1/4 cup green onion, chopped
    1 garlic clove, minced
    2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
2 tablespoons red bell peppers, chopped
    1 lb ground beef
salt & freshly ground black pepper
    1 tablespoon cumin
1 teaspoon sazon (seasoning) goya (1 packet)
    oil (for deep frying)
Directions: (Prep Time: 30 mins - Total Time: 1 1/2 hrs)
    1. Measure the masarepa into a large bowl, add the sazon (seasoning), if using, and salt and mix well; add the water and mix to form a dough (it will be a little wet and rubbery); let stand while filling is prepared.
    2. Meanwhile, cook the potatoes with water and the bouillon until tender, about 10 minutes; drain, mash slightly and set aside.
    3. In a large, heavy skillet, heat 1 tablespoon oil; add onion, tomatoes, green onions, garlic, bell pepper, and cilantro.
    4. Cook, stirring occasionally until tomatoes break down, about 15 minutes.
    5. Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, cumin, and sazon (seasoning); cook, breaking up with a wooden spoon, until browned and fairly dry.
    6. Stir in potatoes and mix well.
    7. Heat oil (at least 2 inches) over medium high heat.
    8. Break off golf ball sized sections of dough (1.5 oz) and roll in your hands into a ball; place between plastic wrap and flatten with the heel of your palm into a 6 inch disc.
    9. Peel away plastic from top only and scoop plastic and disc into your palm; place a heaping tablespoon of filling in center then fold disc and pinch closed; slightly flatten to distribute filling.
    10. With a slotted spoon, gently lower empanada into hot oil and cook 2 minutes, turning about halfway through (you'll need to cook in batches); drain on paper toweling.
    11. Serve warm or at room temperature with recipe Aji or Avocado Sauce and/or lime wedges.

    "Buen Provecho!"
    Enjoy it!

  17. Hi! My favorite food is Japchae which Korean traditional food. When we get Happy New Year and birthday most Korean eat Japchae. It is really delicious. Also, I was cooking my boyfriend and foreign friends who really enjoyed it. You can buy any ingredients from TNT market!! However here is recipe and cooking direction!
Japchae is a stir-fried dish that combines sweet vermicelli noodles made from the starch of a white sweet potato, thinly slices of beef, and various vegetables. It is usually prepared with carrots, green onion, spinach, shiitake mushrooms and green peppers. Beef may be added as an option but may be left out to be served as a vegetarian dish. The noodles are gray when raw and turn almost translucent when cooked (thus given its popular nickname, glass noodles). When cooked correctly, they retain a chewy texture.

    7. Start cooking the beef and mushrooms with a bit of oil.
    8. When beef is cooked, add carrot, onion, spinach, and noodles and stir-fry.

  18. My favorite food is Couscous. It is a staple food in my country. Also, it is a main food for especially the North African and in some cases Middle Eastern countries.
We have many use of couscous in different dishes. But the conventional couscous is our main food. It is consist of: couscous (grain)+soup(vegetable+ meat ).

    200ml of hot water
    Salt and pepper
    oil
    Method:
-For the soup, you can do it whatever you like. Generally it is with Vegetable and meat.
    Grain couscous preparation:
When you buy the grained couscous, it could be cooked or not. In case it is not, you have to prepare it:
1-Prepare a soup in a side, at the same time the couscous grain in another side because it is not yet cooked.
2- Put the couscous in a large bowl. Add the seasoning and pour over the water.

  19. Food is culture and life in itself. In Nepal, there are several variety of foods consumed by multi-ethnic groups in the country. In my case, I like mutton curry with chapati, which is common food, especially in the western part of Nepal. I like this food because it is healthy compared to rice. The following is the recipe to prepare it:
-Take mutton as you require and chop it into small pieces
-Boil mutton to free it from fat
-Grind onion, ginger, garlic, cumin seed, green chillies and turmeric as required
-Put oil or ghee in fry pan or pressure cooker
-Fry paste of onion, ginger, garlic, cumin seed, green chillies and turmeric until they turn into brown
-Put mutton pieces into fry pan or pressure cooker
-Stir frequently and cook mutton until 20 minutes
-Put green leaves of coriander in it
-Now serve in the plates with chapati

Look forward to trying by my colleagues.
